PVC wood grain decorative film is available in several material types, each suited to a specific application method. Choosing the right combination of material and process is essential to achieving a clean, durable finish. The following outlines the main material categories and their corresponding application methods.

Plain film and standard PVC wood grain film are versatile materials suitable for hand application, flat lamination, and vacuum forming. Their flexibility makes them a practical choice across a wide range of surfaces and production settings.
Flat materials are best suited for labor-based lamination or mechanical roll coating processes. These methods work by applying even pressure across the surface to bond the film securely to flat substrates such as panels, boards, and furniture components.
Vacuum blister materials are specifically designed for vacuum blister lamination. In this process, pressure difference between the vacuum environment and the outside atmosphere presses the film tightly and evenly onto both flat and curved surfaces, allowing it to conform precisely to complex shapes and profiles. Vacuum blister materials are typically required to withstand temperatures above 120°C to perform reliably during the lamination process.
For flat surfaces, decorative film is generally applied using a cold press or, where appropriate, a hot press. Both methods use mechanical pressure to achieve a smooth, bubble-free bond between the film and the substrate.
For curved or profiled surfaces, a vacuum laminating machine is used. The machine creates a vacuum environment around the workpiece, and the resulting pressure difference between the vacuum and the outside atmosphere causes the film to be drawn tightly and uniformly over the surface — including contours and edges that would be difficult to cover manually.
PVC veneer — commonly referred to as plastic veneer — is one of the most widely used surface decoration materials in furniture and interior manufacturing. It can be categorized in several ways:
By appearance: single color or wood grain pattern
By hardness: PVC film (flexible) or PVC sheet (rigid)
By surface finish: matte or high gloss
By application process: flat decorative film or vacuum blister decorative film
PVC sheets, in particular, are commonly used in vacuum blister production processes. They are a preferred choice for high-end applications including office furniture, cabinet doors, bathroom cabinet doors, home improvement doors, and decorative panels — where a durable, refined surface finish is required.
